Rural women in developing countries continue to be responsible for the time and labour intensive tasks but they do not have access to new technologies, especially in farm and allied activities management. No mechanization has been introduced for women dominated farm operations to reduce drudgery in work. Women do not get better results due to use of old/traditional implements. Therefore the major step in the present time is to introduce improved implements for performance of tasks. There is an immediate need to rectify the bias in designing of technologies for women. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Krishna Oberoi

Krishna Oberoi at present working as Senior Scientists, Family Resource Management in the College of Home Science, PAU Ludhiana and have total 34 yeas of work experience out of which 14 years is the administration experience, guided 27 MSc and 6 PhD students and is involved in the evaluation of major research project and research papers of other universities as well as other organizations, published more then 100 research papers in the National and International journals, and introduced ergonomic discipline in PAU in teaching and research and helped other Universities to develop this discipline, working as Technical Coordinator for A ICRP-Home Science since last many years and to the target group by organizing extensive training programmes, awarded certificate of appreciation by ICAR for the excellent contributions made for improving that quality of research in Family Resources Management and is the recipient of Choudhary Devilal Best AICRP-ICAR team award for Home Science.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Veena Gandotra

Prof. Veena Gandotra is in Home Management Department of Faculty of Home Science, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. She has been teaching since 1965. She has guided several masters' and doctoral researches and has carried out researches and has carried out research projects in the areas of Management, environment, Housing and Interiors. She has three books and several articles to her credit.
