The present book is an outcome of a two days national conference on population, pollution and biodiversity loss: a bio-social approach. The book contains research articles on biodiversity, essays on population growth pollution and its implications on the natural resources and ultimately on the mankind. This book has an bio-social approach to handle the delicate issues of environment and biodiversity. With an inter-disciplinary approach the book will be useful for the undergraduate, postgraduate and research students working in the field of population, pollution and biodiversity loss.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR B.K. Sinha
Dr. B.K. Sinha obtained his Ph.D. on 'Flora of Banda district' in U.P. in the year 1987 from the University of Allahabad. He has published about 50 research papers and three books on Taxonomy. On his first assignment in B.S.I., he was posted at Andaman & Nicobar Circle, BSI, Port Blair. He has extensively surveyed the Flora of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The present work is the outcome of part of his floristic studies in the Islands. At present, Dr. Sinha is Scientist-SD in Central Circle, Botanical Survey of India, Allahabad.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Shriti Choudhary
Dr. Shriti Choudhary, Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at P P K College, Bundu, a Constituent unit of Ranchi University, Ranchi. Dr. Choudhary received her Ph.D. degree from Ranchi University, Ranchi in the field of Population-Health Literacy. She has worked on several research projects, has designed and developed intervention materials and training modules on Population health literacy for Tribals and adolescents. She has carried out two minor research projects financially assisted from the UGC. Her other areas of concern are issues related to women, children, environment and tribals of Jharkhand. She has authored one book and published number of research as well as popular articles on various social issues.
