Our first national epic, the Ramayana, has an all-time universal appeal and relevance. In its intrinsic value it transcends all the boundaries-subtle and physical. It has percolated our national life at various levels, in one form or the other. The reading of the book provides a great religious, literary and philosophical experience through which one would like to pass again and again. Our ancient-most cultural spirit, national genius and ambitions are embodied and enshrined in it with all their strength and limitations which make it our magnum opus and the cause celebre. The Ramayana has been a perennial source of inspiration to poets, painters, philosophers, performing artist, religious heads and laymen. Here is an attempt, wherein the Ramayana, mainly of Valmiki, is retold, as it deals with Rama’s way.

The Rigveda underlines the path of Jnan, the Samveda that of Bhakti, the Yajurveda that of Karma. The Atharvaveda represents a synthesis of the three. Te Vedas form the foundation of Indian religious, philosophical and cultural systems and observances. Indian culture and civilization has survived the ruthless ravages of time all these centuries only because it is based on the rock foundation of the wisdom of the Vedas.
