ABOUT THE AUTHOR Shelly Batra

Dr Shelly Batra was educated in La Martiniere Girls’ School, Lucknow, and King George’s Medical College, Lucknow. She specialized in obstetrics and gynaecology, and worked at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She is an Honorary Consultant for several hospitals in New Delhi, and her private practice focuses on high-risk pregnancy, women’s health and fitness. She writes columns on health in newspapers and magazines and is the author of The Intimate Self: A Guide to Women’s Sexual Health. She has also appeared in several TV talk shows on health-related matters.
