Lexicogrammar is a term used to refer to the study of vocabulary and structure as a system of meanings accompanied by forms through which meanings can be realised. This book has grown out of realisation of the fact that plenty of work has been done in various areas of English language but Hindi and Punjabi, particularly, verbs in these two languages have received relatively less attention from linguists. The present work, presumed to be in two parts, is a lexicogrammar of the verbs of communication (henceforth VOCs) and makes a comparative study of English, Hindi and Punjabi.
