ABOUT THE AUTHOR Harsha Kumarasena

Harsha Kumarasena is an alumnus of the University of Colombo. A post-graduate in Economics and a doctorate in the same, with speicalisation in Demography and Economic Implications of Migration, she has taught for sixteen years in colleges in Sri Lanka, India (Chennai, Bangalore), and Malaysia. She has written several papers for reputed Indian and American journals and has also co-authored project reports for the United Nations Commission on Population Education. She is Project Director (Population Education) with a leading NGO based in Chennai and Cochin.
