This book has been authored by me in my specialization field being “Managerial Economics”. I propose new title of this book being “Advanced Managerial Economics”. The contents of this book have wide coverage of the imbibed syllabi of the paper “Managerial Economics” of M.B.A., M.B.M., M.C.A., M.Com., and M.A. (Economics) classes of majority of Indian and foreign universities: The contents of the book are as under: Managerial Economics, Consumption, Production, cost, Revenue, Pricing, Factor Pricing Economics, Business Cycle, National Income, Business Decision, Economic Model, Input-Output Analysis, Production and Inventory Decision, Queuing Theory, Simulation, Game Theory, Uncertainty and Probability, Mathematical Programming, Network analysis, Variance analysis, Question Bank and Mathematical Tables. The aforesaid contents of this book have been described in simple English language with suitable diagrams, numerical illustrations and their computation workouts by applying mathematical approach. According to my professional experience this book has better presentation of its contents and has wider coverage of the syllabi of the paper “Managerial Economics” of afore said classes of majority of Indian and foreign universities than the other available text-books in the market throughout India and also at abroad. Besides, this text-book is expected to serve the general student’s academic and various competitive examination causes, like CA, ICWA examination etc., on a very wide scale. Thus, this text-book has an edge over other leading/established text book from the marketing and other angles. In my opinion majority of Indian universities, engineering and management institutions have already imbibed the American pattern of teaching mode and have also modified their syllabi of professional courses included this paper being “Managerial Economics” of their aforesaid post graduate classes for the purpose of meeting the international standard requirements of academics and professions which generate vast ocean of professional employment opportunities for Indian students in the new fields of commerce discipline which are widely based on recently developed information communication technology, commercial robo technology, resource management, personnel planning, cyber regulations, electronic management-banking-trade, etc. Keeping in viewpoint the current time-bound academic and professional requirements of our students as per international standard, my first moon landing effort is the presentation of this book. Tthe presented content of this book on the proposed new title being “Advanced Managerial Economics” have vital importance in the field of contribution towards laying the basic foundation of advanced academic cum professional career development in our students. I have tried to present simple analytical description of the contents of this book. My motto is to serve the student’s academic cause by enriching their knowledge bank and developing their advance academic skill on the subject of this book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Alok Srivastava

Dr. Alok Srivastava is a senior professor of the department of commerce and business administration of Allahabad University. He is an eminent academician in his specialization field-"Advanced Managerial Economics" and is recognised as social scientist throughout India. He has visited France, U.K., Netherland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Italy during his childhood. He has excellence in French and Russian languages. Hons. Mr. Bill Clinton, former President of U.S.A. and the Indian press media of leading national level newspapers have acknowledged his academic contribution excellence in his aforesaid specialization field in 2002. He has conducted 10th UGC Refresher Course in Commerce in his department of Allahabad University in Dec. 2001 as co-ordinatior on the thrust area being "Impact of E-Commerce on the Indian Economy Emerging Challenges and Initiatives" which was never considered under this programme in any part of India. He pioneered Allahabad University on E-Commerce Lectures in the Infotech Commerce discipline. He has vast teaching and research supervision experience of about 35 years. His latest research specialization field is "Infotech-Commerce". He has got published 55 articles of researches and general subjects related to commerce discipline in reputed journals, magazines, and leading national newspapers of India and abroad. He has participated and contributed technical papers in various national seminars, symposiums, workshops, etc, in commerce and management streams. Lastly, he has assumed key positions of the various statutory bodies of Allahabad University recently, like member of Academic Council, Faculty Board of Commerce, Board of Studies in commerce, Departmental Purchase Committee, etc. He has a acted as Director of Undergraduate Commerce Association and Chairman of PG Admission Committee (Commerce) in the recent past.
