Agrarian problem is a disturbing feature. It is more so in a country like India where 75% or the population lives in villages. our economy is largely dependent on agriculture. However, the rural scenario in india is a scene of violence and disturbance. For its remedy, land reforms are a must. An idea of historical background of land reform measures taken from time is a must. The purpose of the study is to examine the whole problem objectively in a historical perspective.
