ABOUT THE AUTHOR B K Khanna

Brigadier (Dr.) Bhagat Khanna, has rich combination of academics, bravery and field experience. He holds M.Sc, Ph.D and MBA degrees, besides being awarded Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal for bravery by the President of India and three other awards for exceptional devotion to duties, He has served in all insurgency prone areas of India and commanded The 5 Rajputana Rifles in Sri Lanka during OP PAWAN. he also served in BSF. He has 34 years experience in handling disasters. He was Consultant with National Institute of Disaster Management, Ministry of Home Affairs. He has experience of relief work during Bhuj Earthquake 2001 and Punjab Floods 1998. He has organized over 35 national and international workshops/seminars on disaster Management and published a number of articles in journals of National and International repute. He is widely traveled and is consult/visiting faculty for 29 professional institutions/universities.
