Pratibhatai's life is a story for women to emulate. That she has effectively balanced her professional and personal life and emerged a winner on both fronts, is there for people to see.
She has had an illustrious political career which kept ascending progressively and steadily, till she reached the pinnacle; becoming the First Woman President of India. Her participation at every stage has been laudable but never has she lost her equanimity; she humbly attributes her accomplishments to the Almighty and to the populace of India.
Coming from a conservative family where education to women was imparted as a favour, Pratibha Devisingh Patil not only fortified herself intellectually but went much beyond it; she also empowered herself emotionally and physically so as to be in a position to work effectively for women and the other disadvantaged sections of society. She thus emerges as a beacon of light for thousands of women within the country and abroad, who wish to follow suit.
Pratibhatai's journey so far has been eventful and inspirational; her achievements large and varied personal life so blissfully satisfying that it needs to be narrated: those who do not speak about themselves need to be spoken about.
