An Islamic Philosophy of Education and its Role in Bangladesh Education

This book embodies a tremendous effort by Prof. Sakina Azher to prove conclusively that Islam decrees education for all. She observes that Islam always encourages educated and enlightened individuals and society. She also comments on the great significance of this subject in Bangladesh, a predominantly Muslim country. According to her education is of vital importance to a nation is of such as ours, and the national education and curriculum policies should reflect this. This book will improve our young generations with the real spirit of Islam and the true Islamic values. Many books that have been published till now have been full of Islamic history, but there are only rare productions dealing with the Islamic philosophy. It is very easy to write about the history of a particular religion, but it is very difficult to write about that religion’s philosophy. An Islamic Philosophy of Education and its Role in Bangladesh Education is the culmination of years of dedicated research on the part of Prof. Sakina Azher. This thesis was written to meet the requirements of her Ph.D. programme at the University of Philippines, Manila.
