Antiquities of Himachal Attempts To Acquaint The Reader With Little Known Wooden And Stone Temples, Sculptures In Wood And Stone, Bronzes, And That Unique Form of Art – The Metal Mask or Mohra. A Number of Indigenous Wooden Temples, Which Incorporate and Continue The Earlier Classical Tradition are Illustrated. So Far, The Earliest Known Sculptures and Bronzes Were Those In The Laksanadevi Temple At Bharmaur, and the Saktidevi Temple at Chhatradi, In Chamba. here, however, some earlier (Stone and Wood) Carvings Datable to the Sixth And Seventh Centuries are Published for the First Time. for the First Time, also, A Large Number af Brass And Silver Mohras (Masks), Which are still in worship In some of the Temples In Remote Villages of The Kullu, Mandi and Simla Districts are Illustrated, and A Chronology Based on A Strict Morphological Analysis Attempted.
