ABOUT THE AUTHOR R.B.L. Soni

R.B.L. Soni (b. 1951) prior to his selection as a Reader in elementary Education, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi, worked as a Lecturer in Special Education in Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal, a constituent of NCERT, and taught graduate and post-graduate classes there for more than 14 years in addition to guiding researches, imparting training and conducting orientation programmes. He has travelled to USA, UK, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark in connection with his studies. He has already published two books entitled Gandhi on Satyagraha and Basic Education and Attitudes Towards Integrated Education. Besides writing monographs, he has contributed a number of research articles to leading journals of education. Dr. Soni has the honour of being an alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and he completed B.A. (Honours) Philosophy and M.A. Philosophy degree courses there. He received an M.Phil degree in Philosophy from the University of Delhi before proceeding to USA for a Teacher Education Programme where he also completed two certificate courses besides taking a Diploma in Teacher Education. The NCERT sponsored Dr. Soni for the prestigious TCTD Award of British Council and he went to UK for higher studies. The Victoria University of Manchester awarded an M.Ed. Degree to him on his successful completion of the course. He also received Ph.D. degree in Education from the University of Delhi. He is currently engaged in conducting researches besides other academic assignments.
