Avionics for Pilots & Engineers is here for the benefit of trainee as well as trained pilots and AMEs. The book begins with basics and covers upto the latest technologies in the avionics. Each subject is Delhi with an objective of preparing a ground such that the reader can easily understand any particular topic in more detail from other sources. The book has been made in two parts: Part I Foundation in Electronics and Communication: Introduction to coordinate systems is the starter. The book goes on to explain, in clear and brief way, concepts of signals and systems in general, electricity, electromagnetic waves and Doppler effect and further on to radar principles and familiarization with digital technology and computers. Part II Airborne Systems: All communication, navigation, landing and radar aids have been explained, including the modern systems of Global Positioning System, Mode-S transponder and Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TACS). Readers will find almost all the avionic aids installed on a modern aircraft in this book. Part II has also, in most of the chapters, been made in sections of (1) Purpose of the system, 92) main features, (3) Operation and Control, and (4) System details. For quick reference of the main system parameters, therefore, access has been made easy. System details are there for reading, if required.
