Backward Area Development Through Rural Industrialisation

Creation of employment according to increasing trend of labourforce and avenues of income for sustaining the livelihood of households in agriculturally backward areas, especially in hilly regions have been emerging as the major challenge for policy makers in the country. And farm sector alone is hardly in a position to meet these challenges. In this context initiating planning for rural industrialization is sought to be an instrumental policy option.
