ABOUT THE AUTHOR P.D. Shenoy
A prolific writer on varied aspects of public administration, Dr. Shenoy is widely acclaimed as a turnaround specialist and an expert in labour administration and industrial relations. An IAS Officer of 1967 batch, Karnataka cadre, he has had the distinction of holding important positions in Karnataka Government and Government of India. Recipient of many awards including President’s Silver Medal for Census Operations and Chief Minister’s Gold Medal for Family Welfare Programmes, Dr. Shenoy has been a consultant to ILO and UNIDO. He has also penned ‘Voluntary Bipartite Approaches Towards Industrial Peace’ published by ILO in 1991. His book Strikes-How to Avoid Them has been published by M/s Sterling Publishers. This book has also been translated into Hindi. At the time of retirement, Dr. Shenoy was secretary, Ministry of Labour and also a member of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation. Dr. Shenoy is currently member, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Along with Prof. C.S. Venkataranam, he is currently working on a book Turnaround Strategies for State Enterprises.
