Sex, undoubtedly, has been at the centre of the universal cultural ethos since the very beginning. Few topics regarding human behaviour hold as much interest and as much pathos as that of deviations and dysfunctions in human sexuality. Behind the Curtain is a preliminary study of several forms of crimes, especially sexual aberrations, prevalent in India. A vivid account of the sexual process and activities has also been given. The opinions and feelings of the persons regarding the abnormal, deviant and disordered type of sexual relations are given due attentions, a large number of which has been not considered to be in good taste on grounds of obscenity and immorality. At times instances have been given in support of the above points. It is also discussed when sex was an important segment of the great classics, why should we be so conservative about it in modern times? This venture will open new vistas of researches and aid to all those who want to reorient their thinking about sex and married life. I hope it may generate greater sexual awareness among the masses.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR C.M. Agrawal
C.M. Agrawal (b. 1954), M.A., Ph.D., D.Litt. did B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. in History in 1973 & 1975 respectively and stood first in first class. He was awarded three merit scholarships, the National Scholarship, a Gold Medal and U.G.C. Fellowship. In 1978 he began his career as a Lecturer in History, Kumaun University Campus, Almora. He received Ph.D. and D.Litt. degrees in 1979 and 1985 respectively. He again visited U.S.A. in Nov. 1989 to attend the next session of the above Conference.
