ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rev. Swami Ananda

Ananda is a senior sanyasi of a venerated spiritual Order. He believes that applied spirituality is to first become a somebody from nobody, and then back to nobody from somebody and finally from nobody to everybody. An Ashram or order is not institutionalized spirituality. Indeed, a spiritual movement is not about stubbornness, or rigidity of views, dogmas conventions or passive indoctrination. It is about togetherness, the active and intelligent engaging of hearts and minds to a level of connectedness that extends in to the ineffable… In this book the author has gone back in time to narrate his emotional experiences as a young monk engaged in the upliftment and empowerment of Naga tribes in the remote and inaccessible region of North East India, fired with a zeal to make a difference to the world. Decades down the line, having prayerfully accepted his role of making a difference not to the world, but to a few of it. Ananda had sought to look at a situation from the perspective of both: a young monk and the nameless, faceless entity called the institution.
