Beyond Borders: Look East Policy & North East India

This book is showcases the views and ideas of young scholars from India and abroad .This anthology fundamentally focuses on the Northeastern region of the Indian Sub-continent and its relations with its neighbours, predominantly in the backdrop of the initiative of the Look East Policy .The latest steps taken by the Indian government in the second phase of the Look East Policy, visibly ushers in ample scope for deliberation and reflection in the same area, specially in the context of Northeast India. This work provides an insight into the ground realities and the future possibilities that may arise in the process of improving India’s ties with the neighbouring countries and especially in integrating Northeast India into the greater South and South east Asian region. This work is expected to fulfill the vacuum in the academia which have been long felt due to the lack of such works focusing primarily on the Northeastern region of India and on its interaction with its neighbours.
