Breeding, Biotechnology and Seed Production

Pratham Vashisth (b. 1960) is a biochemist by profession. He obtained a doctorate in the subject from the University of Dresden and was one of the few scientists to have been invited by the Max Planck Insitute's 'Ecole de Biotechnologia for a one year research programme in chemical neutralisers and anti-corrosives. His services were requisitioned by the Government of India and ONGC for counteractive research against oil spills on the high seas. He sepcialise in marine pollution research and also advises the Fisheries Department of Maharashtra and Karnataka in aquaculture parameters.
