In an era of globalization with its various froms touches every aspect of society through its triple value system namely, undwindled freedom, individualism and consumerism. Consequently man and his humanity are alienated. In the midst of such ever growing ill-touched both humanity and the living planet the educated needs to be re-educated by Buddhist education model which was/is a silent revolutionary tool of emancipation from the yoke of man-made religious dogmatism and globalization are being reflecting as major threats to the survival of humanity and this abode. Dr. R.N. Salve, (M.A., M.Phil.,( is a Professor of Sociology, Shivaji university, Kolhapur. He has twenty-Six year of teaching experience at Graduate and Post-Graduate levels. With twenty years of research experience, he is also research guide to M.Phil. and Ph.D. Scholars. He has presented papers in various National and International Conferences and Seminars. He has visited Greece. He has specialization in the areas of sociology of Rural/Urban studies, Sociology of poverty, public Sociology, Welfare and Social Policy. Being an active academician he is life member of various academic bodies of national and international levels. He is not only an academician but also a social activist who has actively played various roles such as Founder president of Lok Shikshan Sanstha, Aurangabad.
