Dr. S. Akincham, D. Litt. (Sorbonne), is Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Ranchi. A leading social scientist of the country, he has authored a number of books and guided research studies. Recently Dr. Akinchan has been nominated a Member of the State Commission for Backward Classes, Government of Bihar. Besides he is a active member of several prestigious professional associations, societies and academies.
