This book catalogues the palm-leaf manuscripts in Odia, Tamil and Sanskrit, with basic manuscriptology. The texts of these manuscripts deal with a wide range of subjects, including Ayurvedic and Siddha medical systems, Vedic mantras and yantras, astrology, folk tales, epics, Puranas, tantras, morals, prognosis, Panchali and religious as well as devotional literature.
Also there are a good number of texts on different Smritis, domestic rituals, funeral and obsequies rituals, village land records, household accounts, and cultivation accounts. A brief account of history of writing in India and evolution of different languages finds place in the discussion as well.
