Chhota Hazri Chhots at 6.00am, is the first meal of the day. It consists of a slice of bread or a couple atta biscuits and mug of tea; usually devoured a few seconds before PT in a semi-comatose state. A boy on this duty was said to be 'fagging chhots'. In the late 90s, Chhots fagging duty was discontinued and the tea replaced with hot chocolate. The Chhota Hazri however, continues.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sanjiv Bathla

Sanjiv Bathla is teaching at The Doon School since 2001. He is an alumnus of the school and currently also the Housemaster of Jaipur House. After his graduation from Delhi University he went on to do his post graduation in Management studies from London. He is also is a B.Ed and an M.A in Economics. Before taking his teaching assignment at Doon, he spent over a decade in the corporate sector.
