It is a matter of social justice that children of the country are liberated from exploitation. The age of childhood is meant for physical, intellectual, and social development. But due to economic and cultural reasons, children are employed in work. The society and the Government of India are well aware of the fact that children have to he provided with all facilities for their development and for this child labour has been banned legally. This book brings to light the conditions prevailing in Maharashtra in regard to child labour. It is hoped the book will be found to be of immense use by sociologists, social workers and the general community at large.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Wasiyoddin R Mujawar

Dr. Wasiyoddin R Mujawar born in 1965 did his Masters in Social work from Marathwada University, Aurangabad. He obtained his Ph.D in Sociology from S.R.T.M. University Nanded. He is the president of Sarvodaya Educational and Voluntary Association (SEVA) and executed a number of action projects funded by various agencies. Presently he is wroking as a Lecturer in Jawaharlal Nehru College of Social Work CIDCO, New Nanded.
