This book is about the role of the Protestant Christians in the Indian freedom struggle. Limiting his scope, the author deals with the Protestant Indian Christians and missionaries during the period between 1919 to 1939, with special emphasis to those in Tamil Nadu. This book is unique as it bases its findings on a document of the British Government called ‘the Memoranda of 1919” which has not been utilized thus far in any academic research study dealing with the subject of Christian participation in the Indian National Movement.
