ABOUT THE AUTHOR G Gopa Kumar

Dr. G. Gopa Kumar (1951) is Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science and Hon. Director of V.K. Krishna Menon Study Centre for International Relations, University of Kerala. He joined teaching service in 1975 and specializes in the areas of Comparative Politics and International Politics. Dr. Gopa Kumar has published four books, besides ninety research articles. He is a recipient of numerous awards and fellowships: UGC Research Scientist (1989), UGC Cultural Exchange Programme in France (1990), International Visiting Fellow in USA (1996), Fulbright Scholar in USA (1998), Slazburg Fellow in Austria (1998), Shastri Fellow in Canada (2000) etc. He served in the visiting faculty of Claremont Graduate University, California USA (1998 and 2003) and University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada (2001) besides lecturing in various universities in North America. Dr. Gopa Kumar also serves as the State Coordinator for Kerala in the research activities organized by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, New Delhi.
