The volume consists of papers presented at a conference that aimed at exploring the impact of climate change on agriculture and food security. Pointing out that the developing countries, particularly India, are vulnerable to climate variability and climate change as their farming depends largely on the rainy season, the papers view the effects of climate change on food production as well as economic activity, human and animal health, water resources and biodiversity. Referring to specific states and regions of India and considering specific crops, they study the sustainability of Indian agriculture in the context of climate change, impact of crop management practices on growth, yield and water use efficiency under changing climate scenario and impact of climate change on management of livestock.
