In India, a number of studies related to communication behaviour of research and extension personnel were undertaken but none of them attempted to deal comprehensively with different aspects of communication patterns, such as intra-personal, intra-system and inter-system behaviour under T&V system. The present study, conducted in the state of Karnataka, is an attempt in this direction. It is hoped that its empirical findings will help to understand the procedure and problems of communication in the transfer of farm technology and provide useful guidelines for effective communication strategy at the grassroot level.
