As the sun rises on each new day, a new beginning is born, the regeneration of a life you know, with the purity and innocence of something that has not yet been; something that is yet to be created, a clean new canvas waiting for that first brush stroke, a fresh new page below a hovering pen, it is a moment of possibilities and promise. Children of Udayan Care, orphaned and abandoned, did not have that continuous fresh start. Life has been cruel to them; their own families deserted them; the streets did not spare them: illiteracy, hunger, lack of hygiene, survival of the fittest, grab as no one will help; or if someone helps there would be strings attached; these are the mantras which have been ingrained in them. How do we teach them the difference of gentle touch, the warmth of a parental hug, the value of education, hygiene, morals, ethics, community living and so much more?
