Critical Pedagogy: Papers in ELT

In organizing the papers for this volume, the main concern has been the selections based on key readings on English as a Second Language, Second Language Teacher education offering a broad and contemporary overview of current debates, activities and developments in the field that would provide a valuable contribution for those who are researching in ELT and new practitioners interested in developments in ELT. No claim is being made in this volume that it provides a state- of – the – art research on current issues, yet the surveys and primary data reported continue to be situated in context that inspires to recall current issues, debates and contemporary approaches to ELT. In putting together the volume, 17 papers focus on different issues like needs analysis, business writing, approaches to writing, editing skills, written feedback procedures, language education for marginalized sections, language identity in classrooms and other papers ranging from broader concerns of ELT to the specific and context based concerns.
