ABOUT THE AUTHOR Prem K. Shinde

Prem Kumar Shinde, an eminent scholar and a seasoned teacher, did his bachelors’ and master’s degree in sociology with first division. He is having over twenty years of professional experience. Throughout his academic career he has been the recipient of many awards and fellowships. In his diverse professional career involving teaching as well as extensive research work, he has been associated with a number of academic institutions and well known research organizations. He has attended several national and international seminars and participated in discussions and debates. He has a few books and a number of research articles on human right issues to his credit, which have got published in well-known journals. Being a social activist he is actively engaged in the empowerment of Dalits and socially disadvantaged people.
