This book attempts to discuss and analyse, in depth, all issues on designs and is a commentary on the 2000 Act. It incorporates all references to the 1911 Act to present a link between the past and upcoming case law under 2000 Act. All the available information of designs including the 1930 amendment to the then design portion of patents Act of 1911 has ben put in footnotes to keep a record. The overlap of designs with copyright law, shape trade marks and patents makes the designs law quite curious in certain respects, which is discussed in chapter 3.

The work will be useful to the designers, legal managers, law practitioners, law teachers, students of law and all those who are concerned with the Designs Law. The effort to assert the IPR of designs and opposing effort to free ride the new designs is a potential source of disputes. The eligible designs need protection from being used without paying royalty, after they are disclosed publicly upon being registered as design.
