Determinants of Fertility

Demographers all over the world did a lot of research on the Fertility behaviour. However, in India research on micro level fertility studies of certain communities are in scares. Only few studies are focused on different castes, religious groups and tribals. Each of these communities has its own socio-cultural and religious factors which have significant influence on the fertility behaivour. Among these communities Brahmins have differential fertility due to complex traditional and cultural practices.
