ABOUT THE AUTHOR Srikant Kulkarni

Dr. Srikant Kulkarni. He is working as professor of plant pathology. He has got an experience of 23 years in teaching, research and extension. HE has completed his Ph.D. degree from USA, Bangalore with distinguished academic career and Gold medal. He has got specialization in fungal pathology-including aerobiology, epidemiology and host-plant resistance. He has published more than 350 research papers and 70 popular articles and reviewed more than 60 research papers and books. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards for his outstanding research in plant pathology, namely-Jawaharlal Nehru award, Nagamma Dattareya Rao Desai award and Fellow of Phytopathological Society of India. He was honoured with “Best postgraduate teacher award” of University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad during 1987. He has visited several foreign countries which include U.K., USA, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Norway and Sweden. He has also worked with the Nobel Laureate-Dr. Norman E.Borlaug (Nobel Laureate) in 1982, attended 4th International Conference on Aero biology held at stockholm, Sweden in 1990 and many other countrie such as UK, USA, Taiwan, Mexico, Thiland, Singapore, Norway and Sweden.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Yashoda R. Hegde

Dr. Yashoda R. Hegde. She has been engaged in teaching and research in plant pathology since 1987. During the past 12 years, she has published more than 40 research papers and more than 30 popular articles in regional languages. She was deputed for a training in “Biotechnology in relation to pathology” at Ohio State University, Columbus, USA for a period of 3 months during 1995. She has completed her bachelor and master degrees with a distinguished academic career, punctuated with gold medals, honours and state awards. She was the first lady graduate to complete the B.Sc. (Ag.) degree from USA, Dharwad. She has obtained Ph.D. in Plant Pathology. Her specialization is fungal diseases of crop plants and their management.
