During recent decades of research by agricultural scientists working in the dryland and rainfed horticulture, developed many new technologies to aid farmers in soil and water conservations, special horticultural practices and nutrient management.

A major objective in the preparation of this book was to bring together in one volume a comprehensive discussion of theory and practical application of the various technologies. To attain that objective the services of group of distinguished scientists were enlisted to prepare the various chapters.
