This set of eleven volumes has been divided into three parts I. Ancient India: The theme has been well-weaved into several events having deep bearing on ancient Indian culture, administration, expansion of the Empire, art, society, system of warfare, downfall of empires, food habits, ways of life, flora and fauna of the period covered. This will be a useful series of volumes covering early Hindu civilization to the Rajput dynasty which indeed had much impact on our culture and society. II. Medieval India: The downfall of the Rajput dynasty led to the emergence of Muslim rule which lasted for a few centuries from North to South, West to East including Central India. This series include several emperors and kingdoms having deep bearing on their administration, military and civil and several aspects of human society. In fact dynasties like Slaves, Khiljis, Tughluqs, Mughals including Babur, Humayun, akbar, Jehangir, Shah Jehan and Aurangzeb, Sher Shah Suri, Marathas including Shivaji, three historic battles of Paniput and numerous other events covering a few centuries. III. Modern India: This series covers the British India and various aspects of British administration which was established, initially, on the western coast of India and expanded to several regions of our sub-continent, after defeating their adversaries. This expansion made them yield power unprecedented in the annals of our history. This phase has been covered into two parts – the first part up to 1857 and second part up to 1947 when India attained complete independence. Indeed the freedom movement has been covered in all its significant aspects. This series of volumes would be useful for teachers, research scholars and students in India and abroad.
