ABOUT THE AUTHOR Janardan Kumar

Janardan Kumar initially inducted as a lecturer in History, Bihar University, Muzaffarpur rose to the highest ladder of the academic world, i.e., Vice-Chancellor, L.N. Mithila University, Bihar. His keen interest in higher historical studies yielded many outstanding works, for example, Indo-Chinese Trade, The Company India, Select Documents on Indian Trade & Industry and Buddha, Buddhism and Vaishali. He has been contributing regular articles on varied subjects concerning history and political science. In the company of Sri Rajdeva Narayan he was drawn to the study of the most burning problem of modern times, i.e., ecology.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rajdeva Narayan

Rajdeva Narayan is a practicing tax lawyer of repute and has been evincing keen interest in socio-economic problems of varied dimensions and of late has taken up the study of environmental issues for his special attention. He is a devoted follower of Gandhi-Lohia school of social philosophy and believes that the precepts of this philosophy can be successfully extended for developing and understanding and solution of the present day ecological problems. To achieve this end, he has been organizing seminars and symposia of social and political activists and intellectuals of diverse shades. The present book is a significant result of this venture.
