The book introduces two basic approaches for understanding governances issues: political ecology and political economy. The author’s view is the ecology approach is relatively new and untested field of inquiry, while political economy perspective arises from a massive and systematic flowering of literature and analysis. The book attempts to depict the real picture of environmental problems of great magnitude – destruction of wildlife habitat, extinction of plant and animal species, soil erosion, air and water pollution and toxic substance poisoning.
