This book is a comprehensive study on the Economic analysis of Fertilizer use for major crops in Madurai District of Tamil Nadu at the micro level and the demand for fertilizer at the macro level. This would help to suggest possible ways of improving farm management. The author tries to focus on the factors determining the increase in fertilizer demand in the country. The use of Nerlovian model would help us to understand the influence of lagged variables. This would help to suggest possible ways of improving farm management. ABOUT THE AUTHOR S. Kayarkanni

Born on 1st June 1960, Smt. S. Kayarkanni did her post-graduation in Economics and Mathematical Economics from Madurai Kamaraj University. She took her doctorate degree from the same university. She served in the teaching faculty of Mother Teresa Womens’ University and Lady Doak College. She is guiding the M.Phil and Ph.D., students of Economics. She has contributed more than fifty research papers to various journals related to Agricultural research , Marketing, Epigraphy, Onomastics, etc. Her research papers have figures in the leading journals like Agricultural situation in India, Mano Research Papers, Mano Research Forum, Industrial Resurgence in Rural India, scope and Strategies, Revamping Financial Sector, Studies in Indian Epigraphy, Studies in Indian Place Names, Journal of Ancient Science and Archaeology and so on. She has made an in road into several national, regional conferences, seminars and workshops through her rich and significant contribution on the latest researches on various aspects of economics, environment, agricultural growth, epigraphy, etc. She is presently the Reader in Economics in Sri Parasakti College for Women.
