Dr. J.K. Samal (b. 1944) Ph.D., D,Litt., Professor of History Berhampur University, Orissa is an experienced teacher and renowned research scholar. He has published several books, namely, Orissa under the British Crown; Princely States of Orissa; History of Education in Orissa and other titles. He presided over the Orissa History Congress at its Berhampur session in 1993. He was awarded with ICHR fellowship a number of times for major research project.
