The Government of India in order to plan develop and oversee higher education created an Agency by the name of university Grants Commission. The University Grants Commission has been a funding agency for the development of Colleges and universities. The fact that India ahs an infrastructure of education which is third in the world has to give credit to the university Grants Commission for its expansion and development. Similarly, the Government of India developed an institution by the name of National Council of educational research and Training. The main function of this institution has been to conduct research in Elementary Education and Secondary education. Since Elementary education and secondary education are the subjects of the State Government. Recently, the Government of India has developed an institution by name of National Council of Teacher education which is overseeing the work of teacher Education in the whole country and is working for the bringing of uniformity in the field of training of Teacher. Besides this the Government of India, constituted about there commission of Education to guide development of Education in the country,. In this way we see that the administration and management of education in India is a joint venture by the Central and the State Government and on the basis of the recommendations of various commissions, the scheme of development of education were framed in various Five years Plans.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR D.D. Aggarwal

D.D. Aggarwal, born in 1933, had his schooling in Sonipat (Haryana) and graduation and post-graduation from Delhi. He joined Ministry of Railways through the IAS and Allied Services Examination and retired from there as a Joint Secretary. After retirement, he adopted writing books as his pastime and has already written many books, including Protocol in Ramcharitmanas and Protocol in Srimal Bhagwat (both in English and Hindi); India Ever Independent: Why only 50 Years; CBI and Policing in India since Vedic Period and Jurisprudence in India Through the Ages. In these books, the writer has tried to trace the respective modern systems in our ancient books viz., Vedas, Samritis, Puranas etc. The present book Protocol in Mahabharata is another link in that chain depicting all aspects of modern protocol – spiritual, social, political and administrative – existing in Mahabharata, an occan of contents of Hindu way of life in that era. The author is still busy in bringing out more works in that direction.
