Education performs the social functions of a society. It is vitally linked to the needs and aspirations of a society. In view of this education can not remain immune to social developments. It is for the reason that the technological development are directly and indirectly influencing the objectives and the methodology of education now. The use of radio, television, computers, machines, films and now internet and multimedia, for delivering the educational material to the students is generally known by the name of educational technology. The governments of the day and the educational administrators and planners are now increasingly realizing the need for the use of technology in education and for making necessary provisious in the budget for making purchase of more and more technological devices in delivering the inputs of educational material to the students.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR D.D. Aggarwal
D.D. Aggarwal, born in 1933, had his schooling in Sonipat (Haryana) and graduation and post-graduation from Delhi. He joined Ministry of Railways through the IAS and Allied Services Examination and retired from there as a Joint Secretary. After retirement, he adopted writing books as his pastime and has already written many books, including Protocol in Ramcharitmanas and Protocol in Srimal Bhagwat (both in English and Hindi); India Ever Independent: Why only 50 Years; CBI and Policing in India since Vedic Period and Jurisprudence in India Through the Ages. In these books, the writer has tried to trace the respective modern systems in our ancient books viz., Vedas, Samritis, Puranas etc. The present book Protocol in Mahabharata is another link in that chain depicting all aspects of modern protocol – spiritual, social, political and administrative – existing in Mahabharata, an occan of contents of Hindu way of life in that era. The author is still busy in bringing out more works in that direction.
