ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ajit K. Singh

Ajit K. Singh is an University Professor at the Department of Anthropology, Ranchi University. He has written 7 books and more than a dozen research paper in reputed journals of India and abroad. He has travelled in Europe for academic assignments. Once he was a lecturer at North-Eastern Hill University, Shilong. He is also specialized in the field of social anthropology and in connection with development, religion, tribal demography and area studies, He has completed 4 mojor research projects sponsored by Ministry of welfare, Govt. of India Bihar Education Project Govt. of Bihar and Tribal Welfare Research Institute, Ranchi. He is also an action anthropologist and is closely associated with a number of social organisations.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.N. Pathak

Dr. S.N. Pathak is Project Director, B.L. Centre for Development Research and Action, Lucknow. He has done his Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology, University of Lucknow, Lucknow. He has completed several Research Projects entrusted to him by various Ministries of Central Government. He has earlier worked on Land Reform System in Uttar Pradesh. His main interest is in culture, sociology and anthropology.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.P. Pandey

Shivapujan Pandey (1958) is Director, Pt. G.B. Pant Institute of Studies in Rural Development, Lucknow. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in History from Lucknow University in 1984. He has devoted his attention towards art and culture with admirable felicity of understanding and expression. He as already conducted about 30 studies in the field of tribal, women, development programmes, culture and art.
