ABOUT THE AUTHOR K. Vijaya Kumar

Dr. K. Vijaya Kumar was born at Arikathota village of Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradehs, India completed shcool education in Rajahmundry and Arikathota and Intermediate and Degree in Vizianagaram District. Passed M.A. Sociology and M.A. History from Andhra University in 1981 and 1983. He secured II Rank in M.A. Sociology. Joined in Research under the Guidance of Prof. Y.C. Simhadri of the Department of Sociology who is the present Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University. Dr. K. Vijaya Kumar was awarded Ph.D. in Industrial Sociology in 1989. He was awarded as Research Associate (UGC) for five years, and was appointed as Associate Professor in Sociology in the School of Distance Education, Andhra University in 1994. The Author Published nearly 15 Research papers in Various leading learned Journals on different aspects at the national level. He published two books on Industrial Sociology and Sociological perspectives of Futurology. He was awarded University Grants Commission Major Research Project in 1999. Under his guidance, one Ph.D., was awarded Right now, he is actively engaged in Research activities and is guiding scholars in their Ph.D. Programmes. He visited and participated in International conference at Cape Town, South Africa and presented a paper. He attended a number of Seminars and Workshops and Conferences. He is also a lesson-writer for other universities. He works actively in the School of distance Education and involves in Teaching and Coordinating various academic and administrative programmes including Research. His main hobbies, however, are teaching, Research and guiding scholars.
