ABOUT THE AUTHOR K.V. Ramani
K.V. Ramani (b. 1945) HOLDS A Master’s degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and a MBA degree from the same university. He has worked at middle and senior levels of Century Rayons, Ashok Leyland and United Breweries. Ha has also made meaningful contributions in terms of research and development in association with CAPEXIL, the Indian Textile Research Association and the Cotton Mills Federation of India. He is the author of the widely acclaimed industry guide on Creative Approach to Industrial Relations (1988) and of at least a dozen papers published in leading Indian journals of management and industrial development. His other edited works include Corporate Policy Making and Planning and the Integrated Enterprises. Presently, he is a known management consultant and also Executive Secretary with one of the Three all India associations of consultancy organization.

Surjit Singh is Honorary Director, Institute of Rajasthan Studies, Jaipur and Professor of Economics, Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur. He has authored Modeling Indian Economy; Urban Informal Sector; Rural Credit; Issues for the Nineties and co-edited Sustainable Agriculture, Poverty and Food Security and Political Economy of WTO Regime.
