Vedic mathematics is based on sixteen sutras and some sub-sutras which provide links through mathematics: the word ‘Sutra’ means ‘thread’. Vedic scheme is not simply a collection of rapid methods; it is a system, a unified approach, which can be swiftly learnt. Vedic mathematics extensively exploits the properties of numbers in every practical applications, particularly in the field of computation. It makes available a whole range of methods ideally suited to these properties. After a detailed introduction to Vedic Mathematics, this book shows applications of vertically and crosswise from basic calculations to the evaluation of logarithms, exponentials, trigonometrical functions and the solution of simultaneous, transcendental, polynomial and differential equations. The methods given in this book are not intended to be a complete or thorough treatment of the topics they deal with. All of the ideas can probably be developed further or applied in other areas, and all can doubtless be improved upon.
