ABOUT THE AUTHOR P T Sawant

Dr. P T Sawant graduated in Geology from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra in 1973 and obtained his Masters Degree in Applied Geology in 1976 from Karnataka University, Dharwad. Subsequently, he obtained his Ph. D. from Pune University, Pune in 1981. He completed LL.B. (Special) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 1985. He completed Diploma Course in Information Technology of CDAC, Pune, 2001.The author has been teaching graduate courses in geology at Walchand College, Solapur, Post-graduate courses at Solapur University and Engineering Geology at Walchand Institutte of Technology (WIT) Solapur, since 1984. The author is currently working as Head in Geology Department at Walchand College of Arts & Science, Solapur.There are to Dr. Sawant’s credit about 35 research papers, 33 general articles, 59 research abstracts, 5 reports, 7 booklets and 2 reports on flood affected Raigadh Dist., Maharashtra. He has successfully guided one M. Phil and two Ph. D. students and now he has been supervising four Ph. D. students in Geology. Presently, he has been working on UGC Sponsored Project.
