This book is the collection of learned papers submitted by participants in the EXII Session of the All India Annual Committee Conference, 1988, held at Ranchi. The Papers have been contributed by eminent teachers and academics from Universities and College all over the country on topics dealing with diverse problems in entrepreneurial development in the country ranging from regional problems to the issues confronting the business houses operating countrywide. Role of banking institutions, financial institutions and importance of institutions to provide logistic support to the development of entrepreneurs in India have been presented in proper perspective e with suggestions to overcome the existing impediment, for the state to base its policies and programmes to expedite the development of entrepreneurship. The efforts would be well rewarded if researches are undertaken in areas highlighted in the book for further probe in the interest of advancement of knowledge and made use of by planners and policy makers at the state level.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sami Uddin

Professor Sami Uddin (b. 1932), M.A. Economics, M.Com., Diploma Economist (Moscow),Aligarh Muslim University, has long experience as a researcher and teacher. He is the author of over a dozen books in the field of cooperation , Banking, Rural Entrepreneurship etc. and has large number of research papers to his credit. In 1976 he was invited by the international Cooperative Alliance to work as a resource person in the International seminar on Cooperative Farming held in Colombo. During 1976-81 he had worked in the University of Mosul, Iraq. In 1977 he attended the Arab Conference on Cooperative Management and Administration as a special invitee. A widely travelledk person, prof, Sami Uddin recently went to the USSR Uddin recently went to the USSR under Cultural Exchange Programme. At Present he is working on a Cooperative Project with Mr. A.I. Krashanininkov, Head, International Department, Centrosoyus and Prof, V.P. Maslennikoy of Friendship University, Moscow. In 1988 he went to France to attend 17th International Conferenc3e on CIRIEC held at Bordeaux. He visited the U.S.A. to lecture in various Universities. Professor Sami Uddin was nominated director of the Central Cooperative Bank twice by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. He is member of several national and international academic bodies and associations.
