In this book various simple instruments like chemical balance, pH meter, conductivity and turbidity meter to highly sophisticated instruments like GC, AAS, TOC, XRF etc. were described in detailed with adequate illustrations. Emphasis has also been given on the simple chemical measurement to preparation of sample for sophisticated analysis of heavy metals, pesticides etc. Various other gravimetric, volumetric, spectroscopic, light scattering, radio analytical and electro analytical methods etc. were described in detail. It is hoped that this description will help to accurately measure the pollution, which ultimately help to design appropriate, effective, economical and affordable control strategy in many more facet.
